Piano accompaniment is needed for all grade exams
except for Prep Tests and piano exam candidates. It is very important that each candidate has
at least one rehearsal with the accompanist before the exam.
All accompanying fees include one
rehearsal, plus attendance at the examination itself, arranged at mutual
convenience. The accompanist will be the instrumental teacher if
possible, or a recommended Lingard accompanist. All fees are paid direct to the
accompanist. The fees reflect the high level of professional competence
required by the accompanist, as well as the time taken to prepare the music for
the first rehearsal. Extra rehearsals may be booked as may aural
test sessions.
NB. It is the parents’
responsibility to ensure that the exam candidate is taken to the exam and has
their music, instrument (if needed) for the exam and the rehearsal.
LINGARD GROUP ACTIVITIES
THEORY CLUB
The Theory Club is designed to ensure pupils make
quick and efficient progress in music theory. Lingard has been running these
popular sessions for many years, and we have achieved a very high pass rate.
The maximum teacher to pupil ratio is 1 to 8 (with a student helper).
The fees below are based on an 11 week term but terms vary from 10 weeks
to 12 weeks long depending on school and Lingard holidays, so fees will be
adjusted accordingly. Places can only be
reserved from one term to the next for a maximum of two weeks.
