Club Three
fantastic clubs for 3 to 9 year olds!
Lay the foundations for a lifelong love of music with this popular after-school club. Children are introduced to the exciting world of making music in a fun and friendly way by experienced, professionals, where the emphasis is firmly on having fun within a structured learning environment. Many of our young boys and girls have gone on to become cathedral choristers here in Winchester as well as music students at Cambridge University as well as the Guildhall School of Music, London.
Theory Club
(ages 9 to 18) is designed to ensure pupils make quick and efficient
progress in music theory. Lingard has been running these popular sessions for many years, and they have achieved a very high pass rate. Membership is vital for children wanting to either take GCSE / A level music or to take the Grade 5 Theory Examination. Grade 5 is a prerequisite for any student wishing to take the higher grades of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) as well as being an entry requirement for many A level music courses.
Clubs operate on Tuesday evenings in central Winchester (United Church Rooms, Jewry Street) and have a maximum group size of 7. Each club is run by a qualified, experienced music teacher.
Group 1 Theory Club: 5.05pm to 5.50pm
The aim of Baby Boogie and Toddler Twist is to have fun moving to music which in turn will develop other skills, mainly sensory, physical, social and language development. The combination of songs, musical instruments and routines are the same for three weeks running (to promote their introduction, practise and anticipation for the children).
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
